This painting has Avi ( my sexy trombone player), and myself, heavily drunk and cozy after a great concert in Tel Aviv.  Painted by Matan Oren for a solo exhibition named DRUNK.  It’s up for sale, of course. And part of the mission.

נדמה לי, אם זכרוני אינו מטעני, והוא מטעני לבקרים חמרמריים, השיר מבוסס על ארוע אמיתי. ומה אמיתי יותר משיוט בעתידם של חברים לשעבר, מתחתנים ומתארסים למיניהם, אהבות אסורות בהתהוות, וצ’יטוטים אל הלא-נודע. בכל אופן, התשוקה עברה דירה. זה לא חדש. מה שחדש הוא, שיש לעדכן אותה. את התשוקה. את האהבה. בכל אופן, אם לצטט את ידידי צ’יקי ארד, מספרו החדש, “החלום הישראלי” השיר נכתב ב”לצון ותאווה”. אבל לא רק, יש שם בהחלט גם אהבה. אפילו צ’יקי יודע את זה, ושומעים את זה בדופק הלב הריאלי-מופרע של ספרו (זו הייתה ה(מ)לצה). 0

כל האיורים מוצעים למכירה, בדרך למימון ההקלטות. 0

בכל אופן, מצטברים אצלי שירים להתפוקק, על המחשב, בדיסקים, בדיסקים-על-מפתחון, בלב, בכל מקום. ומאחר שאני אחרי אלבום עשירי, ולפני העשור הבא, מדלקת בין פרוייקטים, ומחכה לסימן, יש רגעים שסוחפים אותי בעל כורחי, אל מקום אחר. אתמול למשל, במקום להתאמן בפסנתר הזייפן והנאמן שלי, ישבתי על איורים לשיר הפייסבוק. מזמן רציתי לאייר את הפייסבוק, להוציאו מהקשרו הממוחשב, אל העולם האמיתי והמצוייר (בעיפרון, ולא בסמן המחשב). רגרסיה פרוגרסיבית כזאת. לצייר את הפייסבוק , זה באמת רעיון ללילה שיכור. אתמול דווקא לא שתיתי, אבל משיתי את העפרונות העתיקים והרכים מהמרתף שלהם, והתחלתי לצייר. שכחתי כמה כיף. לאייר פרצופים עם עיניים גדולות, פורטרטים עצמיים מחמיאים וצעירים. זה יותר קוּל מפוטושופ. הקווים הם אני. לא שלוחה שלי.  0

השיר עצמו טרם הוקלט, ולקחתי את אחד הטייקים מאחת החזרות. בגירסה ראשונית, מתעבדת לאיטה. אפשר לשמוע את הקלילות שבאילתור גירסה. אפשר גם לשמוע את הערת המנצח, “עכשיו A”‘ במעבר לסי-פארט. ובסוף, אפשר לשמוע את השמחה, ולראות את הבייבי-מאק המזוייף והאדום שלי, שהיה פתוח על פייסבוק, בזמן שציירתי. 0

Ok, what can I say, here’s a FB love song, BABY, IT’S YOU. This song must be  based on a true story, buried somewhere in the viral archives of the vanishing real world. For what can be more real than surfing into the evolving future  of x-boyfriends and their ever-changing status, from “single” to “complicated” to “engaged” and alas, “married” too. Yep. It’s hard to believe, but some people, for some reason,  still get married.  Oh, the FB world of forbidden relationships, chatting themselves out of their wits into the unknown.

Anyway, this track is a very basic rehearsal recording; still groping for its shape. I like it this way. Groping. I like hearing the conductor saying “now A minor” just before the C part, and I like showing off my fake red Mac at the end of the clip, and the burning image of my logo. Drawing was fun too. One drunk journey into the night, drawing sketches of my self, way younger and way cooler. Pencils can work magic. It’s sweeter than photoshop.

I think I generally began to enjoy the work-in-process state of mind these days. It won’t stick for long,  as I have quite  a few albums, songs and projects that are burning to come out. But some times you just have to stay with the process. I’m not used to it. I never liked it really. I was always the boom bang kinda girl. Impatient, fast, and aching for the next new thing to blast ahead. But it’s the process days now. Oh, well. This painting is basically blue, as you can tell. I totally erased a whole other layer of painting, to get to this one. I like doing this. Cover years of images with fast splashes of white paint, and start all over again.  If a future archeologist would ever dig out the layers, he’s find whole worlds and kingdoms  smothered out with the splash of white. I like the thought.

Lost Look, oil & acrylic on canvas, 30/40 cm

This is a kind of a new painting, that started as a dark self portrait in 1990 and ended totally changed, these days in 2010. It’s breaking my heart to see the various layers this painting underwent through, but hey, this is life. We don’t stay the same.  But if science allows, one can scrap away the layers, and get to the bottom of things.

זה ציור חדש, אפשר לומר, שהתחיל כסוג של פורטרט עצמי חמור סבר בתחילת שנות התשעים, והשתנה לחלוטין בגירסתו העכשווית, 2010. לא פשוט לי לראות את השלבים השונים, בשכבות הנערמות של הציור, אבל אלה החיים. אנחנו משתנים. אם יוכל מישהו בכל זאת לגרד את השכבות, אפשר יהיה לחזור אולי ללב העניין, או למה שהיה, תלוי איך מסתכלים על זה.  באופן חריג, יש לי כאן את צילומי הדרך של הסיפור הזה. הנה אחת הגירסאות הקדומות. אם מישהו ממש אוהב, תמיד אפשר יהיה להדפיס את התצלום. 0
